Morph head

This object is so simple it can hardly be called a puzzle, but it has a nice mechanism and moves quite well. It depicts Morph, and was part of a MacDonalds campaign in 2002. It consists of 4 segments, and each half can be turned through 180 degrees. It can be thought of as a 2×2×1 cube-like puzzle.

The number of positions:

If you hold one piece steady, then the other three pieces are mixed relative to it. Their orientations depend on their positions, so there are merely 3!=6 possible positions.

Solution:

If you hold one part steady, then there are only two possible moves you can do. Alternate those two moves, and it will be solved in at most 5 moves.
