IH91

 


The template for the IH91 system is any isosceles triangle. Only two of the three sides can be shaped and both must be in the same way as shown. The template and any tile shape formed from it have an axis of internal reflection symmetry, as indicated by the dog pattern.

 A section of the tiling formed by this template is also shown below, with a translation cluster outlined.  The two basic translations are  indicated by  the vectors drawn from the highlighted cluster. The tiling has four different centres of two-fold rotation symmetry, two different axes of glide and another two of mirror reflection symmetry. An example of each is indicated. The tiling symmetry group is cmm.

The consequent tiling requires tiles of two different colours to avoid adjacent  colours being the same.
