The template for the IH6 system is any hexagon with two pairs of equal non-adjacent sides. In each pair, the two sides must make equal and opposite angles with a direction common to both pairs. (In the template shown, the common direction is the horizontal.) All six sides can be shaped as indicated by the half-arrows. The template and any tile shape formed from it have no internal symmetry, as indicated by the dog. An example of a template is

The tiling has two different centres of two-fold rotation symmetry and two different orthogonal axes of glide reflection symmetry. An example of each is indicated. The tiling symmetry group is pgg.
